Part A
(about the child)
Today started out rough for
Tanner. We were stuck inside because it was raining outside and he was feeling
pent up and argued with his other teachers. I asked him to go and get his
homework but he finished that in like ten minutes so we had an hour to kill. I
asked what he wanted to do and he just said go home and play Call of Duty. He
did not like the idea of coloring. I learned that at school he brings his
football cards and shows those off with friends. One of our rules is that there
are no football cards allowed at the daycare due to trading and stealing
reasons. I asked my manager if we could change this rule to a reward and she
agreed. Tanner was psyched to get out his cards and talk with his friends quietly
at their table. Never have I seen him so behaved indoors.
Part B (about you)
After today, I feel
like we accomplished a lot. Found a small thing that would keep him busy when
we’re stuck inside. I’m going to have to work on some more activities for him
to do at daycare. He is obviously really smart so I feel like he outpaces a lot
of the word searches we have so I am going to have to try to find some tougher
ones that are not so tough he loses motivation.
